Before you come
Questions people ask us
The practical things worth knowing before you walk through the gate.

General
Do I need to queue for a table?
No. Walk in, find any free table inside or in the garden, and order from the QR code on it. On busy weekends it can take a minute to spot one, but nobody seats you and nobody makes you wait in line.
Do I need a reservation?
Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend booking ahead for larger groups or busy times.
Do you have vegetarian or vegan options?
Yes, we have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes. Let us know about any allergies.
Can I order takeaway?
Absolutely, order in person or message us ahead and we'll have it ready to go.
General
What time do you close?
We close at 6pm every day, including weekends, so come earlier in the afternoon rather than later if you want to be sure of a table.
About
Can I use my laptop?
We ask guests not to work on laptops here, especially once it gets busy. We would rather keep tables free for people stopping for coffee and cake. Phones and tablets for ordering are fine.
Is there somewhere to sit outside?
Yes, our garden courtyard against the old church wall, with roses, grapes and quince trees depending on the season. It is the reason most people come.

Can I pay by card?
